The Barclays ReadyToWork program was designed to equip the young people between the age of 18 – 35 years from colleges and universities with employability skills and entrepreneurial skills which will allow them to thrive both in employment and as entrepreneurs.
Some of the key things that the program covers include key skills of successful entrepreneurs, how to set up and grow your own business, developing effective interpersonal skills and understanding emotional intelligence, managing personal finances, planning for financial future and how to pursue and the right opportunities.
The ReadyToWork program gives you the work, people, money skills and entrepreneurial skills you need to improve your employment or self-employment prospects.
The aim of this program is to equip the youth with skills to allow them to enter into gainful employment, either as entrepreneurs or employees.
This program is currently being offered at @iLabAfrica, an ICT Innovation and Development Centre based at Strathmore University. @iLabAfrica will be offering the course until November 2017. One can take the course online or attend facilitated sessions at @iLabAfrica in Strathmore. You can enroll for the facilitated classes on any f the following set dates: May (22nd – 26th) June (26th – 30th), July (24th – 28th) and August 28th – 1st September).
The course takes 5 days and comprises of four modules which are available online via the Barclays portal. Certificates are awarded upon completion of the course with internship opportunities available for few successful individuals. Beneficiaries of the course will also benefit from mentorship opportunities organised with Barclays staff.
