Context

In response to the disruption of face‑to‑face training caused by COVID‑19, the College of Human Resource Management (CHRM) engaged me to lead the design and implementation of a new online learning platform (CHRM eCampus). The objective was to transition professional training programs to fully online delivery while maintaining learning quality, learner support, and institutional oversight.

Challenge

CHRM had limited prior experience delivering training fully online and required a rapid but sustainable transition. The platform needed to support course delivery, learner engagement, monitoring of learning activities, and institutional reporting—without overwhelming staff or learners during a period of operational disruption.

Constraints

  • Urgent timelines driven by pandemic‑related closures
  • No existing enterprise LMS configured for full online delivery
  • Need to support both learners and administrators with varying digital confidence
  • Requirement for reliable reporting and learning activity monitoring
  • Limited margin for experimentation due to ongoing training commitments

Decisions & Approach

I led the end‑to‑end design and implementation of a new LMS‑based online academy, balancing speed with long‑term sustainability. The work entailed:

  • Designing and implementing a responsive, enterprise‑level Moodle LMS tailored to CHRM’s training model
  • Configuring and customizing the platform to support blended and fully online learning pathways
  • Integrating custom reporting features for learner progress monitoring and institutional oversight
  • Advising CHRM leadership on online academy strategy, governance, and operational considerations
  • Installing and customizing Moodle plugins to enhance learning activities and engagement

Outcome & Insight

CHRM successfully launched its eCampus platform, enabling continuity of training delivery during COVID‑19 disruptions. The college gained a functional, scalable digital learning environment capable of supporting online course delivery, learner support, and performance monitoring.

Key insight: Rapid digital transitions succeed when platform implementation is paired with strategic consulting that aligns technology, learning design, and institutional readiness.
